One of the first things that I considered in putting up this site is how many Filipinos love wearing watches. I went to Glorietta and like a monk, I just sat in one of the available spaces there, in the activity center and scoured the place, looking out for people who wear watches.
I found quite a number, wearing different brands and different designs. Some wear watches with gold in it, others with stainless steel straps and a few, leather ones. Out of ten Filipinos I saw, about seven wear watches. Not bad.
I went to another place, this time at the famed UCC. I found most people there wearing watches. And one particular watch struck me.
It's big, about 52mm. It's hip and cool. It has black leather straps and a nice face. I became curious. What is the ALT there in the face? Kenneth who wears this nice Chotovelli Pilot watches told me that this watch is made to last. It's tough. It has a heritage, he says. And what is it?
Chotovelli watches daw are born and bred in Torino, Italy, the town where the Maseratis, the Alfa Romeos and all those Fiat cars were manufactured.
Curious, I looked at their site http://www.chotovelli.com and found that to be true. Those watch gauges have a similar precision like those Fiat machines. And I'm not surprised.
There's a particular reason why the world's top racing cars are born and bred in that part of the world---it's the people. Torinos have this knack for the fast life. They are born engineers. And their designs are bold, timeless and particularly, iconoclastic.
More on the Chotovelli later....
As the site name suggest, The Watch Club is not just about watches. It's about life. It's about everything that happens in life.
It's about people's zest in lifestyle, in entertainment, in their business and politics. Watching life as it unfolds is something that we do everyday.
Analyzing life is like looking at the face of your watch and you not only tell time, you also look at yourself.
Watches are self-expressions. The watch you wear tells everything about you. That is the theme of this site.
