Social Voyeurism and the Senate as Voyeur

Filipinos are obsessed now with watching all those sex tapes that they're oblivious of rising fuel prices and that escalating tension in the Korean peninsula. This generation is simply different from those of the 70's and 80's who, despite the lack of technological gadgets like laptops and mobile phones, they seem to be more politically conscious than the present ones.

The Senate probe on the sex scandal involving sexy actress Katrina Halili and Dr. Hayden Kho is proof positive that legislators just go with the flow instead of creating issues that matter. Senator Jamby Madrigal's assertion that the issue is more than skin deep, shows Madrigal's attempt at justifying the probe due to some brickbats she got from her fellow legislators.

And senators should really castigate her for making this issue a national matter. This is simply a criminal issue and Dr. Hayden Kho should answer all allegations in court, not in the Senate. Everyone thinks he's guilty---let the Judge mete the proper punishment.

Madrigal criticizes and urges people to refrain from spreading the sex tapes of Kho and Halili but, with this probe, she, unwittingly or wittingly, allowed herself to be used in further fuelling the controversy to fever high.

Kho should be jailed. Katrina should consider going on a sabbatical and Vicki Belo, well, she should probably rest for a while and prepare herself. In the next few weeks, she should prepare those food for her lover boy because from all indications, he's as guilty as charged.

By the way, I did a film about my favorite watch, the Chotovelli. It's big & bold design reminds me of the moon. That's why I made this film. I hope you love it.
